– “Gate keepers” of the Primary series –
Stuck in a posture? What do you do?
If we diligently work towards that asana we are stuck in, we will learn way more about our-selves and the practice of Yoga than the asanas that come easily for us. You can choose to throw it out and skim through the challenging ones but then you have wasted a huge opportunity to grow and to learn. That is why the Ashtanga Practice sequence is so beautiful, because it doesn’t allow you to just skip postures. Your job is to start where you are with it and then find the PROGRESSION.
This workshop will explore the PROGRESSION towards the gatekeepers of the Primary series.
Why are they called gate keepers? because traditionally in the Ashtanga practice you can not advance in the sequence until you fully have the previous posture.
We will explore how to progressively work towards the following asanas:
– Ardha Padmasana (Half-Lotus)
– Marichiyasna D
– Kurmasana/Supta Kurmasana
– Setu Bandhasana
