What sparked your yoga journey and how did it begin?
I discovered yoga when living in China with my husband and 4 kids between 2005-2010. Determined to exercise, I turned to yoga as there was not much outdoor alternative in busy Shanghai. I was immediately hooked by the multiple benefits I experienced. I had found a discipline that provided me with the physical stimulation I needed, the emotional peace and the mental clarity I aspired to. Inspired by a more holistic approach to life, I decided to dive deeper into it and did a first 200h Teachers Training in 2008 followed by further teachers’ trainings in the following years (including 300h Barkan yoga in 2020). Yoga is part of my routine and complements my running practice especially well. It also connects very nicely with my work as a founder and partner of The Resilience Institute, aiming at measuring and building human resilience in the corporate world to support people to achieve performance with care – care for self, for others and for the planet.
