The notion of respect is often perceived towards others, how do you see it when it comes to ourselves?

I have always enjoyed various sports, and when I started practicing yoga 17 years ago, it was just my next physical challenge. Over time, I discovered that yoga not only enhances my physical strength but also has a profound impact on my mental well-being. Among the many values yoga practice has taught me, but above all respect, both towards others as well as myself.

To me, self-respect involves recognizing and appreciating our own worth, dignity, and individuality. Yoga highlights self-awareness, allowing us to understand and respect our unique physical and emotional states. It teaches us to treat ourselves with kindness and acceptance, just as we would treat others.

In yoga, we practice non-competitiveness, focusing on our personal journey rather than comparing ourselves to others. We learn to honor our bodies and minds as they are, without pushing beyond our limits. This practice builds trust in our intuition, enabling us to make decisions that align with our authentic selves, rather than constantly seeking validation or approval from others.

By treating ourselves with kindness and understanding, we not only nurture healthy relationships but also make positive contributions to the world around us.

Throughout all these years, yoga has been a fundamental part of my happiness and joy. I consider myself truly blessed and honoredto be able to share this joy with the entire Flame family.
